We all know cupcakes are awesome, tasty, and pretty much the greatest thing since sliced bread, right? That’s all well and good, but every once in a while, cupcake bakers get a little bored and decide to start playing around with the deep fryer. What happens next? Glad you asked. DONUTS!

We recently started toying with some dough recipes and decided we should buckle down and figure out vegan donuts. If you follow us on Facebook or Twitter, you’d know that we churned out our first couple batches over the last few days and have been giving them away for free. Well, the testing was a success so they’re out of beta now, and with your feedback we think we’ve got them down pretty well. We’re going to start offering them as often as humanly possible from now on, alongside our cupcakes and cookies. For now it’ll be sort of a grab-bag of flavors and toppings, but we promise they’re all delicious.

So thanks to everyone who stopped by and enjoyed a free donut this week. We hope you enjoyed them, and we hope you’ll be back for more now that they’re on sale. Oh, and of course, like everything else we make, they’re mostly organic, and entirely vegan (dairy- and egg-free).

This tropical beauty has a Vodka/Rum/Mango cake with Passionfruit Frosting. It’s also filled with Mango Puree. Come get it!

You guys kicked, screamed, and started a riot for Key Lime to make another appearance, and we are waving the white flag! Starting today (June 3rd), Key Lime is back! This cupcake will be available every Wednesday and Friday. If you didn’t get a chance to taste this yumtastical cupcake when we offered it as one of our Magical Mystery flavors, now is your chance! This cupcake features a vanilla cake with a graham cracker crust, key lime pie filling, key lime pie frosting, vanilla frosting, graham cracker crumbs, a lime wedge. Happy June! WATERMELON is the new Cupcake of the Month! This cupcake is available every Tuesday & Thursday this month!

It’s a watermelon-flavored cake with chocolate chips, topped with watermelon frosting & a watermelon candy. Mmm… summer is tasty.

Since we’re getting close to Cupcakefest now, we figured it’s time to start posting about more of the awesome prizes we’ll be raffling off. Remember, all the proceeds from our raffles will be going to the Liberty Humane Society to help feed and care for their animals. Without further ado, here’s one of our favorite of the prizes:

What we’ve got here is an awesome Flip Mino video camera. What’s even more awesome about this one is that it’s emblazoned with our new logo! This little guy records awesome video at the touch of a button to its internal memory. It has an internal rechargeable battery, and a built-in USB connector to plug into your computer. There’s also software included for one-touch uploading to YouTube and MySpace. It’s pretty awesome, and one of you lucky people is going to win it (along with even more prizes, to be announced soon!).

It’s super YUMTASTIC!!

We knew when we started doing printed cupcakes that it would eventually lead to some bizarre requests. We didn’t, however, anticipate this.

Our friend Kail wanted something special for his brother’s birthday, so somehow he came to the conclusion that Nick-At-Nite vs. Capcom cupcakes were the best way to go about that. Honestly, we applaud his strangeness. After all, we can’t deny that we’ve always wanted to print cupcakes with the Fresh Prince of Bel-Air on them.
